our state legislators need to hear from us!
Posted by Roger Brown in Civics, Provo on February 3rd, 2010
Do you live in Provo?
Our local Utah state legislators – our state senator and representatives — have asked us to fill out a survey to help them decide where to cut state programs. Why? A deficit of $920 million is projected and the budget must be balanced!!!
Will you please take a few minutes of your time to help our legislators decide which direction to go?!
(if you live in another city in Utah, contact your state senator or representative for a link to their survey — see http://www.le.state.ut.us/maps/amap.html to lookup who they are)
Here’s the link to the surveys for the 4 districts that cover Provo:
- District 61, Rep. Keith Grover (roughly NW Provo)
- District 62, Rep. Chris Herrod (roughly NE Provo)
- District 63, Rep. Steve Clark (roughly East Central Provo)
- District 64, Rep. Becky Lockhart (roughly SE and SW Provo)
If you’re not sure which of the 4 districts you live in, please type in your address @ http://www.le.state.ut.us/maps/amap.html
Please spread the word! Our legislators have to make the tough calls on what to cut back on.
Roger Brown
P.S. Our legislators are available each of the Saturday mornings during the session @ 7:30 AM @ IHC’s Northwest Plaza 450 W 1230 N in Provo. It’s called “Eggs and Issues” — i think it’s free breakfast but i’m not sure — i’ll let you know! ![]()
Broadweave and Veracity will be merging!

This was announced earlier today:

As a sales contractor for Broadweave (not an employee) I think this is really good news! It means that after the merger is complete (pending regulatory approval of course) that we can sell services to residents outside of Provo such as in the cities that are part of Utopianet.org — cities like Orem, etc.
Plus with Veracity having a lot of business customers that will help too. I used to know one of the owners/founder of Off-Campus Telecommunications which later became Veracity.
I’m no business guru but as a technical sales guy — and a part-time computer tuneup/upgrade guy and website producer — i think it’s good news.
And of course I’m looking forward to seeing what sales opportunities it will give me.
For the current prices and promotions for anywhere in Provo look at this document; then call or text me at 801-356-1032.
(I’ll let you know about other cities after the merger is complete.)
And reply below if you have a question that you think others will also ask.
Thanks,
Roger Brown

P.S. I think that Broadweave’s Internet, Phone and TV services really are excellent — and I’m not saying that as an average sales guy.
I’ve been using the Internet since 1994. I used to do top-level technical support and server administration for some local/national web hosting companies. I’ve moved to sales because of health issues with sitting at a desk all day long. My own personal clients as well as the Broadweave customers that I’ve sold can tell you that I’m more of a consumer advocate than a sales guy.
