This program is about living things and how the cell is the fundamental building block of all living organisms. Students learn the differences between living and non-living things through teaching and multimedia activities. Emphasis is placed on the characteristics and processes of living organisms. Magnifying glasses and microscopes are used as tools to further investigate living organisms through the power of magnification. The program concludes with the students constructing their own cell from a menu of organelles based on their new understanding of how living things and cells function.
