ABOUT READING 2

The goal of Reading 2 is to teach reading strategies and skills within the context of literature, general sciences, and American history. In this way, the learning incorporates an exposure to both the vocabulary and basic concepts of these subject areas.

The Video Component

Reading 2 also is based on the GED on TV series produced by KET which received the Wilbur Schramm Award of Excellence for instructional television.

With Wally Amos as the guide, Reading 2 explores the world of literature in the first four books. Beautifully produced vignettes bring classic tales and poetry to life. Practical instruction on reading maps, charts and graphs is featured in book 5. Books 6-11 focus on science and Books 12-16 are social studies books which concentrate on American history. Professional video throughout Reading 2 makes it a beautiful learning experience.
